Two tips for anyone who needs to hire a skip bin

Here are two tips for anyone who needs to rent a skip from a bin hire business.

They should give some thought to where they'll put the skip bin

Anyone who needs to rent a skip must think carefully about where they'll be putting the bin. For example, they must not simply pick a spot that's convenient for them, but must also ensure that the rental company's delivery truck will be able to access this spot too. If a person wants to put the bin in their back garden, but their garden is only accessible via a narrow walking path, it might be hard for the delivery driver to safely lift the bin through this narrow area. A spot outside their home, on a street, might be more suitable. Similarly, it's important for people to choose locations for their skips that are free of potential hazards, like overhead utility lines or trees, that the delivery driver could accidentally strike whilst using their truck crane to unload or lift the bin.

Additionally, the spot a person chooses to put their skip bin in should also be easy for them to access. If they select a parking spot for it that takes, for example, five minutes to reach from their home, and they need to load dozens of bags of rubbish into the skip, they could waste a lot of their time and energy walking to and from this container.

They should consider how they'd prefer to load the bin

It's important for those who'll be renting skips to also consider which type of skip might be best for their rubbish-loading preferences. If for example, they are not physically strong, they should ask the bin hire company for a skip with doors and a ramp. This type of skip is easier to place rubbish into than a traditional skip with four walls, as the person using it doesn't need to lift and throw their rubbish over the bin's high walls. Instead, they can open the doors and easily place the rubbish inside the container. If the bin also has a ramp, the person renting it could also put their rubbish in a wheelbarrow, roll this wheelbarrow into the skip through its doors, and then simply tip the rubbish out. This could make the process of filling the bin even less physically demanding.

Even if a person who needs to rent a skip is quite strong, selecting a skip with these features could still be a good idea if they need to put bulky items, such as large furniture pieces, into the bin. It could be faster to simply slide an old armchair across the bin's ramp and through its doors than it would be to lift that chair over the bin's walls.
